We are glad that you chose Kempner and hope that you reside here for many, many years. We have put together a short history of Kempner and some current information that may assist you. Of course, if you have any questions or concerns, the City Hall Staff is here to assist you in any way possible. The number of City Hall is listed below.

The City of Kempner was founded in 1882 and was named after Harris Kempner, a Texas philanthropist, banker and railroad magnate. The city incorporated in August 1997 and according to the latest census figures has a population of 1,117.

The city operates as a Type A General-Law Municipality. Council Meetings are held at the City Hall at 7:00 PM the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.

The City Hall houses all the city’s offices, the municipal court, council chambers and police department. City Hall business hours are 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday-Friday. City Hall is closed for all holidays and a notice is posted on the front door when the office is closed.
